The Jesuits of the Deep State

The Deep State is composed of secular Jesuits, who practice casuistry, the justification of unjustifiable actions.  A secondary meaning of “Jesuit” is equivocating.

An Irish Catholic priest condemned the Jesuits in “The Jesuits: The Society of Jesus and the Betrayal of the Roman Catholic Church”.  (1987)

California Governor Jerry Brown was taught by Jesuits, and thought of becoming one.

If you sometimes wonder about the Catholic faith of Pope Francis I, it’s not your imagination.  He’s the first Jesuit Pope.  Jesuits are theological free thinkers.

Throughout their history, Jesuits have been self-righteous, arrogant and hypocritical.  Sound familiar?

Trump is not a ham sandwich

Prosecuting attorneys have such influence and control over grand juries that they can get them to indict a ham sandwich.  And federal criminal law is so broad in scope that all ham sandwiches are potential legal targets.

Because of his pardon power, the President has a weapon to defend himself from being ham sandwiched.  The hatred of his enemies is so intense, and their position within the Deep State so strong, that he will need to exercise the pardon power to disarm them.

It’s a matter of timing.  Trump has an intuitive understanding of political timing, and is waiting for the right moment.  The sooner the better.

They got Nixon, but Nixon was guilty.  Trump is innocent.  He will prevail if he uses his constitutional powers to defend himself..

The President has the power to defend himself from the Deep State

I’m posted at American Thinker with an argument for blanket pardons.  The whole Mueller investigation is illegitimate, and needs to be shut down.  Then begin the wholesale exposure of the lawyer cabal that is called the Deep State.  Trump is in peril, and this is how he defends himself and the Constitution.

The pardon power, as received by the Colonies from English law

I think it’s entirely possible President Trump may be issuing a blanket pardon soon, so I wanted to know what the the Framers’ understanding of the pardon power was.  They were British, and British law was their model.  To understand what the Framers meant in giving the President the pardon power, we need to see what their English forebears had taught them.

Controversies over the pardon power go back to 1309, but for the Framers the relevant period is from 1678 to 1688, from the reign of Charles II to the Glorious Revolution.  Parliament impeached Charles’s closest adviser, Lord Danby, in lieu of impeaching the king himself, which they couldn’t do.  Charles pardoned him before he could be tried.  Prior to this incident, the pardon power had been considered absolute.

The debate on the Bill of Rights of 1688 included efforts to restrict the pardon power, all of which were defeated.  Then, in 1700 the Act of Settlement prohibited pardons which prevented impeachment actions by Parliament.  The Act left intact the power to pardon subsequent to sentence.

The foregoing is derived from The President’s Power to Pardon; A Constitutional History by William F. Duker, William and Mary Law Review, Vol. 18, Issue 13.

It seems to me that at the end of the day the FBI is going to be a shadow of its former self.  The head of the FBI will have as much power as a Police Commissioner does under the mayor.  There are city cops, and state cops, and there are federal cops.  But they’re  all just cops.

And we should take J. Edgar Hoover’s name off the building.

Representative Devin Nunes, an American hero

Republicans Devin Nunes and David Valadao represent adjoining districts in the Central Valley of California.  They are both descended from families of dairy farmers hailing from the Azores Islands.  Both of their districts are heavily Hispanic, but they are not.  Their ancestors came from the western edge of the Iberian Peninsula, so, technically, they are a different ethnicity, and are Portuguese-Americans.

Nunes is the one man in Congress who takes his role as overseer of the Justice Department seriously.  The Senate, led by Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley, is as valuable as tits on a boar hog.  Representative Trey Gowdy was once an aspiring member of the Lawyer Cabal that seeks to overturn the results of the 2016 Presidential election, and has lost whatever judgement he may have had.

David Nunes has shown courage, tenacity, and a devotion to duty that make me proud to be a Republican, and an American.  God bless him.
