Wherefor art thou, Marco?

I can’t help but like Rubio.  I read his book, and he’s just my kind of guy.  I respect him, I respect his values.  He’s burning with ambition, but the good kind.  He wants to make his family proud of him.  He always talks about his father, at the back of the banquet hall, serving drinks behind his little bar.  We’ve all seen these guys. To think that a son of one of them, a Cuban-American, could become President is just the greatest story ever.  And he can’t let it go.

When I told Babbie that Marco’s wife was a Miami Dolphins cheerleader she decided she didn’t like him that much after all.  She thinks I lust after that hot Latina in Modern Family, and she doesn’t like women like that.

But I think this woman is going to do the right thing  by her man, and tell him he’s done all he could.  All any man could.

Go out with honor.

Three good men and a whack job

Over the next four days we’ll see what this field is made of.  If they’re patriots, not egomaniacs, Kasich will do all in his power to win Ohio  — a winner take all, with a whole lot of delegates.  The Republican Party of Ohio is very well organized.  The RCP poll avergae has Trump up 2.5 points right now.  Kasich has to close that gap.  The entire Ohio GOP can do that.

Rubio will stick to Florida.  Trump’s got a 14 point lead, which I think Rubio can overcome by coming at Trump.

Kindly Dr. Carson, being duped

What’s kept Carson in the race is a continuing flow of contributions.  He’s got some shysters around him who are making a lot of money.  As long as the money keeps coming, and they get their cut, they’ll do all they can to keep Carson in the race.

Now he’s openly playing his role as the nicer side of Trump.  I don’t question his sincerity  — yet.  I think he’s just naive.  Trump is somehow funneling money to the thieves in Carson’s campaign, and they now work for him.

I suspect this will all be revealed in the end, but for now they’re getting away with it.

Kasich and Rubio must see what’s going on.  One or both needs to pull out and endorse Cruz.

Will either one of these guys man up? For their country?  I hope so, or they’re not the men I thought they were.

Now I just saw political uber-genius Stephen Moore say that he thinks a Trump-Carson ticket would be a real winner.  This guy’s not an idiot, and can’t possibly believe it.

Can he?

Easy money

Ted Cruz is now more of a long shot than ever to win the Presidency.  He was 25-1, now he’s 33-1.  Trump’s chance of winning the nomination are now 70%.  The Drudge Poll showed Trump the overwhelming winner of the debate.  Any one who pays the slightest attention to these things is a fool.  The betting markets and the Drudge Poll are being manipulated by an agent of Trump.  He’s gaming the system to make himself  look like a winner.  It’s all B.S.

I had one contact in England that I asked to place a bet, but they have more important things to do.  I have noticed that I get a reader from Europe once in a while.  If anyone reading this blog has a Brit friend that they trust, tell them to, at the least, short Trump.  The best bet is that 33-1 on Cruz.  I think he’s the odds on favorite, and I know what’s going on.

I’d like to get in on the action myself.  The only money I have that really doesn’t belong to Babbie is a few thousand I inherited from my Aunt Mary.  I want to bet it on Cruz.  If you’ve got a lead for me please put it in the comments.  Before I place any bet I’ll check to make sure this is legal for a U.S. citizen to do.  In politics and law, I play by the rules.

The amount of money you need to move the betting markets has got to be pretty small.  I doubt Trump has spent more than a few hundred thousand on this.  Chump change.  But it’s laying in the street, and when the odds begin to move against him maybe we can sucker him into doubling down.  This is Trump money, and I want some of it.

I am a lawyer, after all.  When we do good we always like to do well, at the same time.

It’s the way we think.

Never underestimate an American patriot

I could have written Trump’s closing statement myself.  I’ve said some pretty tough stuff about this man, that I need to reconsider.  He didn’t ask for anyone’s vote.  He just wants all the people he’s brought into the political process respected.

That’s my take.  Hat’s off to CNN.  That’s what I’m watching from now on.  Bye bye Fox News and the puppetmaster, Rupert Murdoch.  He had me fooled.

Jake Tapper is my new man in the media.  This guy’s for real.  If there were a way to short Fox News, I’d jump on it right now.   Their credibility is blown, all of them  — Bill O’Reilly, Bret Baier, Charles Krauthammer, Megyn Kelly, Chris Wallace, Brit Hume, all of them.  They’re puppets.  Roger Ailes has destroyed his brand.  FOX is at 27.98 right now, up sharply from 25.  After I’ve looked into it, this is a stock I may want to short.

As Edward R. Murrow used to say, good night and good luck.
